Winter Soccer
"Success is not an accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying,
sacrifice and most of all, a love of what you are doing or learning to do." -Pele
MAYSA does NOT run a winter soccer league or build official teams for other leagues
MAYSA Winter soccer is an in-formal 'Pickup' type of soccer where anyone who shows up are split into teams for the duration of the time.
It is held in the Mercer Elementary School gym and is subject to gym availability and number of volunteers available to run the youth night.
Youth Winter Indoor Pickup Soccer
Youth Winter Indoor Pickup Soccer is intended for players in grades 2nd through 6th who are seriously considering playing Spring Soccer.
Younger players will be teamed with and play against older more experienced players.
Winter Indoor Pickup Soccer begins in January/February and is held on Saturday evenings. Pickup runs through mid-March or whenever we can get outside.
WHERE: Mercer Elementary School Gym
WHEN: TBD (Usually Saturday afternoons beginning in January and runs through March)
COST: Free
No weekly commitment, come when you can.
Pickup teams form each week.
Generally teams play two (5) minutes games (in a row) and sit one game.
This is a more competitive "pickup" soccer. The idea is to have fun, get some "touches" so to maintain familiarity with the ball and game through the winter months as we await the Spring Season.
Adult Winter Indoor Pickup Soccer
Adult Pickup Soccer or as one person put it "old man soccer".
Men and Women are welcome.
The goal is to have fun, get a little exercise and learn a little more about the game (by playing).
If we start having Adult pickup soccer the details will be communicated separately.
