MAYSA had 11 of our players competing on Classic teams in Western PA for the
Spring 09 season. This is amazing given the relative size of our club with
others in PA West. These players must try out and make the teams, competing for
spots against players from the greater Pittsburgh area. Congratulations to them
all and we are proud of your representing MAYSA in the greater soccer
community.

Three MAYSA athletes recently participated in the Pennsylvania West State
Cup U12 Classic Tournament in 2009. Their team, Stars United out of Cranberry Twp., PA
went on to win the title and will represent Western PA in the regional
tournament in Huntington, West Virginia. They will be competeing against teams
from the Northeast portion of the United States.

Three MAYSA athletes recently participated in the Western Pennsylvania State Cup
U17 Classic Tournament in 2009. Their team, Stars United out of Cranberry Twp., PA went
on to finish as the runner-up when they lost in the final against the Beadling
U17 team.

Claire
Creasy from Mercer was a starter on the Stars United U-17 Girls team in
2009. The team participated in the State Cup and also qualified for
Regionals in the Presidents Cup. "The team is coached by

Joe Lang (pictured bottom row second from the right) participated in the
Pennsylvania West State Cup U15 Classic Tournament in 2009. His team, Shenango
Valley United out of Mercer County, PA, earned a semi-final appearance where
they lost a hard fought match to the eventual champions.
